Isle of Skye, Scotland Elopement

Isle of Skye Elopement Photographer

Sarah & Hari always knew that they wanted to get married in Scotland. When they initially got in touch and told me about their plans to travel from California to Scotland to get married amongst the wilderness of the highlands, I was immediately in! I love nothing more than travelling to the remote parts of Scotland to capture weddings and elopements. Sarah & Hari were planning to travel all around Scotland as part of their trip, but with the centre point being their wedding on the Isle of Skye.

I’ve been lucky enough to photograph many elopements on the Isle of Skye, so they were happy to task me to find the best locations for their ceremony and portraits. Skye being Skye, plans sometimes have to change due to weather conditions, so it’s always best to have a plan B, C or D. The initial plan was to do the ceremony at Brother’s Point, but inspection the day before the wedding, it was pretty boggy underfoot, so we decided to go to The Fairy Pools instead, which is equally if not more stunning. Skye is so beautiful, you could get married on the side of most roads and the backdrop would still be spectacular.

I was joined by my friends and videographers, Chas and Euan (Sole Productions) and we had an absolute blast with Sarah & Hari. It was clear straight away that they were going to be an awesome couple to work with. Following the ceremony, we spent some more time at The Fairy Pools for some portraits and then we travelled to magical Fairy Glen to take advantages of it’s mystical qualities and unusual landscape.

It was really good fun to be creative with light and smoke in order to play to the mysterious and unique qualities of the location.

Check this out if you’r considering eloping to Scotland. I’d be happy to help you with logistics and planning.
