Highlights from an another awesome year in wedding photography.

It feels like a lifetime ago, but I started 2019 with a month long camper van adventure in New Zealand with my wife and kids (Penny, Ruben and Luna). It was the perfect start to an unbelievable year. I love my job so much, but it’s always so important to have quality family time. After all, why else do we all work!?

My beautifully loving and funny kids are getting so grown up. 2019 marked the year when Luna took her first steps and Ruben starts school in 2020! Eeeek!

2019 was also the year that I finally decided that working from home was taking it’s toll, so I decided to branch out and get a full time desk at a co-working space, Two Ten Co. It’s honestly been one of the best business decisions that I’ve ever made. It’s such a rewarding environment working alongside likeminded creatives.

Other non-photography related highlights for me this year have been music and podcasts. I do lots of driving, so it’s always nice to be kept company by random chat. Here are some of my favourite podcasts: The Adam Buxton Podcast, 46-30, WTF with Marc Maron, Stop Podcasting Yourself, Top Flight Time Machine, Athletico Mince, Armchair Expert, This American Life.

I’ve also been to some unbelievable gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh… Hot Chip, Bill Callaghan, Flaming Lips, Mogwai, The Cure, Nick Cave, Aldous Harding and Kishi Bashi. All unbelievable! I’ve already got Field Music, Explosions in the Sky, Big Thief and Agnes Obel lined up for 2020.

Please feel free to send me some music and podcast recommendations. I’m always on the hunt for new stuff to keep me company on long drives up to Skye.

Anyway, enough about my personal life! You’re here to look at pictures. It’s always a real struggle to choose my favourite images over s 12 month period… and this year has been no different. I have shot over 60 weddings all over Scotland (and one in England). Each and every one has been special in its own unique way. I’ve contended with all of the crazy weather that the highlands, islands, cities and the rest of Scotland have thrown at me and my couples and it’s been, in a word… awesome!

Thank you to all of my adventurous, generous, loving and beautiful couples who chose me to be part of one of the most important days of their lives. Every single shot was an honour and a privilege.

Here’s to more of the following beautiful craziness in 2020.
