2021 Review

2021 was the busiest, craziest and most creatively rewarding year I’ve had since starting my journey as a wedding photographer almost 10 years ago.

I’ve got to be honest, I was running on fumes at times and it was so difficult juggling family life and an unbelievably hectic shooting schedule, especially in the second part of the year. But now that the dust has settled on ‘the crazy year’, I look back with such amazing memories and I’m really really proud of what I have achieved.

Why was 2021 so busy for wedding photography? Well, the simple answer is COVID! Around 70% of my client’s from 2020 were forced to reschedule due to the restrictions. I had no alternative but to honour the bookings and add them to my existing 2021 bookings, which meant that I had the crazy number of 75 weddings in one calendar year… trust me, that’s an outrageous amount of work!

I couldn’t have gotten through this year without the the fresh and infectious (maybe the wrong word to use in these times) enthusiasm of every couple that I was so lucky to photograph. I’ve travelled all of the country (14,000 miles to be accurate) and I’ve visited some new destinations and some old favourites.

No matter the location, it has been an honour and an absolute pleasure to be part of so many amazing couple’s story and I hope that my photographs provide them all with joy, laughter and happy tears for years to come.
